More Testing!
January 11th, 2008
That’s what the perinatologist said. He wants to do some more blood tests to see if it’s a clotting problem (his best guess at the moment) and do a procedure where they shoot dye into my uterus so that can get a good look at it. His other idea is that when the toot was born, something happened to my uterus that is causing it to not function properly.
I am hoping it’s a clotting thing — easily fixed with heparin.
All of the genetic testing came back normal - yay!
So, more testing. Stay tuned…
Today, the toot and I are hunkering-down at home. Another storm is supposed to hit. I’m going to clean out my craft room, I think. My parents gave me an awesome scrapbooking table for Christmas, but I haven’t been able to get it organized for all the STUFF in the way!

Good luck with the dye procedure! I had to do that when we were dealing with all of our infertility stuff. I think they called it an HSG. It felt like I was cramping pretty bad toward the end, so maybe take some Midol before you go.

Have they ever put you on baby aspirin while you are pregnant? After my MC my doc put me on it during the first trimester. Don’t know if it did the trick or if Ella would have been fine anyway! We will keep our fingers crossed that Heparin is the answer!

Toni, thanks for the heads-up on the Midol! Yes, I think the letters HSG were part of that conversation… I really should have taken a tape recorder or a note pad at the very least! I had to ask the doctor to repeat a couple of things so I had it straight.
And Heather, yes, baby aspirin was part of his recommendation as well. In fact, he said all adults should take baby aspirin, so SavvyDad and I are going to take it together! LOL
Another detail I left out was about my Diet Coke — gotta quit! I think I’m still in denial about it a bit. I’m also going to be hitting the gym hard to get back in the killer shape I was in when I got pregnant with the toot. That was another thing that was different with him vs. my four subsequent miscarriages. Ah… the sacrifices we mothers make! It’s so worth it, though!

Yea for more tests and a possible answer–AND treatment! I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it’s the clotting thing. Just lmk when you’re ready to hit the gym…I’ll be in slow motion compared to you, but it will be good moral support at least.
Does that mean you can’t replace your diet coke habit with an M&M habit?? Hmmmm…I have both.

yep, time for me to give up the coke too. It was a fun little break off the wagon now back on I must go!

Hey, the clinical trial I told you about was using 81mg Aspirin, too. I think it was called the Eager trial. I am not sure if you qualify, but you could look into it if you want to.
